Arsenal handed double fitness boost as midfield pair spotted in training

Arsenal face bottom of the table clash

In case you hadn’t been informed, or yourself reminded Arsenal fans you know, every day, the Gunners spent the international break at the bottom of the Premier League table, having failed to even score a goal in their opening three games.

Despite spending the most money of any side in Europe this summer, the Gunners have found themselves on the end of 2-0 defeats to Chelsea and Brentford, as well as suffering a 5-0 humiliation at the hands of Manchester City in their most recent fixture.

In turn, pressure on Mikel Arteta is building, and a home match against Norwich (who sit level with Arsenal on zero points but have scored a goal) this weekend has suddenly become a must-win affair.

Fortunately, the Gunners should be blessed with close to a fully-fit squad, following the Covid-19 outbreaks and injury woes that they have suffered to date, and should be able to get their season up and running after the international break.

Mikel Arteta handed double boost

Fortunately, Arsenal have been handed a much-needed boost to their squad ahead of Saturday’s game against the Canaries. This comes in the form of photos emerging showing Emile Smith Rowe and Sambi Lokonga both in full training on Friday.

Arteta had previously said of Smith Rowe, just yesterday, that:

‘He’s carrying an illness. He’s not been feeling good. Let’s see how he is in the next couple of days.’

It seems, however, as if he has recovered enough to rejoin the squad once more. Additionally, the Gunners will be boosted by the return of Lokonga in light of the recent injury to Mohammed Elneny and Granit Xhaka’s suspension following a straight red card against Manchester City.

This leaves Mikel Arteta only one or two members short of a full-strength side, and will surely be enough to get the Arsenal season up and running.
