Arsenal handed boost in Dejan Kulusevski hunt

An update on Arsenal’s reported pursuit of Dejan Kulusevski has been provided recently.

Arsenal would be linked with a move for the Swede back in November.

Transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio then provided an update on Arsenal’s pursuit of the wide-man, reporting that Arsenal had made first contact with Kulusevski’s agent:

However, reports of Arsenal’s interest then died down around the same time Federico Chiesa suffered a serious injury, which football.london suggested dealt Arsenal a considerable hit in their hopes of signing Kulusevski this month.

Now, however, Di Marzio is reporting that Kulusevski no longer seems to be part of Juventus’ plans, but Juventus have no intention of sanctioning a loan with a right to buy in Italy amid talk of interest from AC Milan.

Instead, Di Marzio claims the easier solution is to send the winger abroad, with Arsenal ‘above all’.

Who is Dejan Kulusevski?

Juventus would sign Kulusevski from fellow Serie A side Atalanta in January of 2020.

The Turin-based outfit are believed to have paid around £31.5m for the winger.

Kulusevski was then loaned to Parma for the remainder of the 2019/20 campaign, before being handed a chance to impress at Juve from 2020/21.

The Swedish international endured a mixed first season in Turin, which saw him score seven and assist seven in 47 outings across all competitions.

And the 21-year-old has since struggled for regular action across the 2021/22 season thus far.

He has largely been used as a substitute and completed 90 minutes on just three occasions in the Serie A this term.

Kulusevski is a right-winger by trade, but is very versatile and can play anywhere across the front line.
