Apple’s first electric vehicle, intended to be fully autonomous with voice and gesture guidance possiblewill now debut in 2026, a year later than expected, according to a Bloomberg report on Tuesday.

Along with the delayed release, the car would now only have fully autonomous capabilities on the highway. Therefore, the initial design – devoid of steering wheel and pedals – will have to be modified to adapt to manual driving.

The delay and at least temporary removal of fully self-contained features may be disappointing to some, but there’s good news. According to Bloomberg, Apple offered to lower the projected price from around $120,000 to under $100,000.

Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the project, dubbed “Titan.” After apparently lose three senior division executives in June 2021, the company would have intensified its development efforts later in the year and now has its sights set on a 2026 release.
