Apple will use its own wireless chips for iPhones in 2025

You may have heard of Apple’s plans to design its own cellular chip, which should debut in late 2024 or early 2025, but the latest rumor also includes the wireless chip responsible for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections. Apple currently uses cellular chips from Qualcomm and wireless chips from Broadcom.
An insider familiar with the matter claims that Apple’s first internal wireless chip will launch with iPhones in 2025 and the company plans to combine the cellular chip with the wireless chip. This would ultimately save production costs, improve energy consumption and take up less space.
It’s just one of many attempts by Apple to reduce its reliance on third-party vendors, taking most of the manufacturing in-house. Apple’s M-series silicon is the latest example and it’s clearly working very well for the company.
