Apple plans to launch multiple iPhone 14, Watch 8 series, iPad and Mac models before second half of 2023: report

Apple plans to launch a slew of products over the next year, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. These products will include four iPhone 14 models, three Apple Watch Series 8 variants, several Mac machines with M2 and M3 chips, Apple’s first mixed reality headset, a bunch of low-end and high-end iPad tablets. , a pair of updated AirPods Pro headphones, a new HomePod and an improved Apple TV. Gurman has already given details of some of these products in the past and the rumor mill also produces details of various devices included in the list.

Gurman shared all the details in his Power On newsletter, setting the tone for what people can expect in the coming year. He said these products will be launched between fall 2022 and the first half of 2023.

iPhone 14

The iPhone 14 rumors started pouring in from October last year. Just like analyst Ming-Chi Kuo’s older rumors, Gurman also says that Apple will launch four iPhone 14 models. There will be two Pro models codenamed D73 and D74, while Apple models will Non-Pro iPhone 14 will be codenamed D27 and D28 and should “generate less excitement,” Gurman claims.

iPhone 14 Pro models are designed to get an improved front camera, a new rear camera system with a 48-megapixel sensor, thinner bezels, an A16 chip, and a pill-shaped cutout for Face ID and a punch hole for the camera. Non-Pro iPhone 14 models would come with the A15 chip that powers the iPhone 13. Apple Watch Series 8

Gurman says Apple is preparing to launch three variants of the Apple Watch Series 8. He says there will be a new low-end SE, a standard Series 8, and a rugged edition aimed at extreme sports. The wearables are said to be getting the S8 chip which might have the same specs as the S7. He also mentions that next year’s Apple Watch models – which are part of the 9 series – are expected to get a new processor. When it comes to screen sizes, the most affordable SE model will stick to the screen size of the current model. According to Gurman, the Apple Watch Series 3 could be discontinued in the fall and the current SE could take its place in the market.

Earlier reports also suggested three Apple Watch Series 8 models are in development. Previously, Gurman claimed Apple was working on a bunch of features, including adding satellite connectivity to the Apple Watch.

iPad tablets

As for iPad tablets, Gurman says Apple will release new 11-inch and 12.9-inch models with M2 chips later this year. These iPads would be codenamed J617 and J620 respectively. He says the Cupertino-based company should also release an iPad with a larger screen – between 14 and 15 inches – in a year or two.

Some reports claim that Apple may launch a “new entry-level iPad with a Retina display of the same resolution as the iPad Air screen”, but the screen size could be 10, 5 inches or even 10.9 inches. . It says there will be a Mac mini powered by the M2 chip and another by the M2 Pro silicon, 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro laptops with M2 Pro and M2 Max chipsets, and Mac Pro models with M2 Ultra and M2 Extreme processors.

It will be announced in January 2023, according to Ming-Chi Kuo, who also claims the device will drive the “continuous and rapid growth” of the headset market.

As for audio products, Gurman says there could be a new pair of AirPods Pro headphones with an updated chip and better sound support.

HomePod and Apple TV

Finally, Apple is also reportedly developing a new Apple TV codenamed J255, powered by an A14 chip and featuring more RAM than the latest model.
