Today Apple unveiled a new feature coming to its Apple Music streaming service “later this month”. It’s called Apple Music Sing and will be available to all Apple Music subscribers worldwide, on iPhones, iPads and the new Apple TV 4K.

Think of it like the karaoke version of Apple and you won’t be far off. Apple Music Sing is an extension of the lyrics experience, which lets you sing along to your favorite songs. You can adjust the level of the song’s vocals so you can sing along with the artist, or even take the lead and silence them completely if that’s what you want.

Plus, simultaneously sung vocal lines can animate independently of the main vocals, so you can keep the backing vocals on for easier melody tracking. Of course, the lyrics are displayed in real time, otherwise it wouldn’t work. There’s even a Duo view that shows multiple singers in a song on opposite sides of the screen so you can have a friend or family member with you for the fun.
