Antonio Conte’s wishes granted as as key performer agrees new deal with Tottenham

Hugo Lloris has agreed to put pen to paper on fresh terms with Tottenham, it has been confirmed late on Thursday evening.

The subject of shot-stopper Lloris’ future has of course long proven a subject of concern for those in a position of power at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

This comes with the Frenchman, who continues to play a central role in the plans of new boss Antonio Conte, due to see his current contract expire upon the conclusion of the campaign.

Any remaining fears that Lloris’ decade-long stint in the English capital could be brought to an end this summer, however, have this evening been put to bed.

This comes on the back of confirmation that the former Olympique Lyonnais standout has reached an agreement with those in a position of power at Spurs, to extend his stay.

As per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Lloris will commit to fresh terms imminently, through the summer of 2024:

Bergwijn’s night to remember

News of Lloris’ decision to stay put of course caps off a superb 24 hours on the Lilywhite half of north London.

This comes on the back of one of the most memorable nights in Spurs’ recent history.

A Premier League trip to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester City saw the capital giants trailing by two goals to one deep into time added on.

Amid remarkable scenes, though, Spurs went on to level things up courtesy of Steven Bergwijn with 95 minutes on the clock, before the Dutchman secured hero status for himself with a winner a minute later:
