Anthony Martial offers verdict on Manchester United’s summer signings

Manchester United sign Sancho & Varane

Manchester United have had one of their better transfer windows in recent memory.

The Red Devils have, for some time, had several obvious areas that needed to be improved upon in their squad.

One of these was at right-wing. Mason Greenwood has been forced to play there for much of the previous two campaigns, despite still being very young and a natural centre-forward.

However, Man United have now signed Jadon Sancho, an experienced, natural, right-winger who is no doubt set to light the Premier League up.

Elsewhere, Man United have also needed some more quality depth at centre-back for a while now.

Harry Maguire is a great option to have, but outside of the Englishman, there is not that much talent.

Victor Lindelof has been the Englishman’s partner for a while now, but it is clear that the Swede should not be a regular feature for a side that has Premier League and Champions League ambitions.

But, Raphael Varane, a Champions League, World Cup and La Liga winner, has been brought in this summer to help provide more competition in United’s backline.

And now, Anthony Martial has offered up his verdict on United’s two summer additions, stating:

“These are two really great players.”

Martial is, of course, already familiar with Varane from the France national team, and spoke very highly of the stopper in the same interview:

“Varane, I know already, of course. And the skillset he has, I know he will bring a lot to our team, in addition to his long experience, so we are all really delighted with these two new players we have.”

He added:

“Varane is a big-time player.

“I don’t think he [Varane] will need too much time to adapt to his new environment, but I’m there for him for whatever little help or advice he may need.”
