Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Post-Credits Scenes Explained

Before we begin, consider this your spoiler warning for the ending of Ant-Man 3.

The first post-credits scene takes place in a world that appears to be floating in space. There we see three variations of Kang – they’re all played by Jonathan Majors but have different costumes and technology. This group constitutes what is known as the Kang Council.

It turns out they were the group that exiled Kang the Conqueror to the Quantum Realm in the first place.

They discuss how he failed to win against the heroes and how they now need to act. They summon thousands of variants of Kang from different realities, all with the goal of eliminating other threats now that the world is beginning to discover all of the alternate timelines.

The three Kangs in question reference characters in the comics, including Pharaoh Rama-Tut and Immortus.

This scene is arguably the most important in setting up Kang’s future conflict and shows just how much this new threat weighs on our future heroes. We already know that the next Avengers movie will be called Avengers: Kang Dynasty, so this scene will likely be heavily set up for that story.

The second post-credits scene also features another variation of Kang. His name is Victor Timely and he performs on a stage explaining how important time is in everyone’s life and how it can be shaped.

Watching from the audience is none other than the god of mischief, Loki. He’s sitting with his TVA buddy Mobius, who seems to doubt he’s a “terrifying character”, but Loki simply replies “he is”.

This, of course, ties into the season finale of the Disney+ series Loki, in which he came face-to-face with the first variant of Kang ever shown in the MCU, He Who Remains.

When Loki’s female variant, Sylvie, disrupted the multiverse’s timeline by killing the One That Remains, she helped release more Kangs into the world. There’s no doubt that Season 2 will feature Loki trying to hunt down Kang and put a stop to any conquest plans.

But how do Loki and Mobius know each other again? In the season finale, Loki’s timeline was completely changed – Kang was a ruthless leader, and the TVA agent claimed he had never met Loki before when the two reunited. We’ll find out more when the next installment hits Disney+ later this year.
