Announcement of the April 2023 Xbox Game Pass wave: Redfall, Minecraft Legends, Medieval Dynasty, and more.

Xbox Game Pass is adding seven new games in the second half of April, leading into May, with red fall arrive as a day one headline. In it, you are transported to the titular island city to thwart a legion of vampires who have blocked out the sun, cutting off citizens from the outside world. red fall can be played in both single-player and co-op modes, though developer Arkane is considering removing the always-online requirement for the former. It releases May 1 on PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and Xbox Series S/X. Meanwhile, Minecraft Legends has already released on Game Pass, putting you in the shoes of a sworn warrior, as you wage war against the adorable piglins that threaten to corrupt the Overworld. The game is quite strategy-oriented, requiring you to collect resources and rally mobs to complete your tasks – be it battles, building structures, or PvP combat.

Bring some of those survival skills to Medieval Dynasty, coming to Xbox One on April 20. (It’s already available on PC and Xbox Series S/X.) Play as a young man in early medieval Europe, who has fled war and seeks to change his destiny. In a land ruled by nobles and clergy, the game takes you through an entire saga, starting from a poor, inexperienced peasant to becoming a master of many skills, where you defend yourself against wild animals, gather resources to build colonies and eventually become the founder of a prosperous dynasty.

This trend of farming simulation continues in Homestead Arcana, where you play as a witch and start a new range that has been corrupted by a mysterious Miasma. Build your farm from scratch, discover plants and tend them, in order to heal and rejuvenate the land from its affliction. Homestead Arcana will be released on April 21 on PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming and Xbox Series S/X.

Delve into a Lovecraftian realm of secret organizations and forbidden rituals in The Last Case of Benedict Fox, a Metroidvania where you explore the memories of recently deceased people to uncover clues. The titular protagonist is bonded to an unholy demon companion who allows him to perform elaborate feats such as solving puzzles and battling trauma that has taken physical form in surreal worlds. Perform unique combos – cycle through your guns, knives and tentacles protruding from your body – to annihilate fiendish enemies, when the game launches April 27 on PC and Xbox consoles.

Cassette Beasts plays to the same beats as Pokémon, in that you collect monsters and engage in turn-based battles in this open-world RPG. Only here you transform yourself into these creatures after recording monsters in your retro tapes and using their powers in battle. Cassette Beasts will be released on April 26 on PC. Then there’s BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle Special Edition, where you create a cross-team battle with a beloved cast from franchises such as Character, Under Night In-Birth, RWBY, and yours truly, to compete in arena matches. It releases on April 27 on cloud, console, and PC.
