Cristiano Ronaldo on Carlo Ancelotti’s radar in a stunning return to Madrid
The transfer window looks set to continue its penchant for dropping surprises this summer, with Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti reportedly keen on Cristiano Ronaldo returning to the Spanish capital before the window slams shut.
According to Insider (citing Spanish journalist Edu Aguirre), Ancelotti could be ready to make a move for the legendary Portuguese forward amidst the player’s reported desire to move away from Juventus this summer during the final year of his contract. The Italian headmaster has since denied those reports.

How likely a move materializes remains to be seen, however, with Los Blancos overloaded with attacking options the likes of Karim Benzema, Eden Hazard, Vinícius Júnior, Marco Asensio, Rodrygo, Gareth Bale, Lucas Vázquez, and Luka Jović. Ronaldo is also rumored to have been offered to Manchester City, and if he is on the market, Real Madrid may have to work to re-secure his services.
Martin Ødegaard inching closer to deal with Arsenal and Real Madrid exit
The protracted transfer saga that has been Arsenal’s interest in Norwegian starlet Martin Ødegaard looks to have taken one step closer to completion today.
According to reports, the player’s representatives are in London to hash out a deal with Mikel Arteta’s Gunners which could put an end to his time in the Spanish capital before the window closes this summer. The mentioned deal would amount to another loan but Arsenal having an option on a £30million move the following season.

The player has already been left out of Ancelotti’s matchday squad in Real Madrid’s 4-1 drubbing of Deportivo Alaves in their La Liga opener (as well as not being given a squad number), and it certainly seems like his path leads away from the Santiago Bernabeu.
Ødegaard has failed to make the grade at Real Madrid since his arrival from Eliteserien outfit Strømsgodset in January 2015, having made just a single appearance in La Liga since. He has had multiple successful loan spells away from the Spanish capital, however, especially during spells at Vitessa Arnhem and Real Sociedad respectively. But Arsenal is incredibly keen on the Norwegian international and have been hopeful of striking a deal all summer.
Inter Milan keen on Luka Jović despite Edin Džeko capture
Serie A champions Inter Milan look to move forward after the recent departure of Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea this summer, and despite securing a free deal for Bosnian icon Edin Džeko, could look to strike a deal for Luka Jović.
Jović has hardly taken to life at Real Madrid since his move from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2019, scoring just 2-goals in a combined thirty-three appearances for Los Blancos while regularly being linked with interest from outside parties.
Apart from Džeko, Inter does have Argentine prodigy Lautaro Martínez on the books but past that, can only count on an aging Alexis Sánchez and a cadre of youngsters. Still just 23-years-old and looking for a chance to rebuild his career after setting the world alight at Eintracht Frankfurt, Jović could provide an interesting long-term solution while helping Real Madrid clear the decks of players who are not in Carlo Ancelotti’s long-term plans.
