Amazon offers Fire TV Stick with wireless game controller in India to attract casual gamers

Amazon is running a bundle deal in India where it is offering the Fire TV Stick with a Bluetooth-enabled Micromini X Ninja game controller with cashback of Rs. 750. The main aim of the promotion is apparently to incentivize gamers purchase the Fire TV Stick to play games on their TV. Amazon says it offers free access to over 30,000 games via Fire TV Stick. The gaming content push aims to make the Fire TV Stick a distinct offering among other media streaming devices.

Customers need to add the Fire TV Stick with the Micromini X Ninja game controller to their cart to get the Rs. 750 cashback, Amazon explains on its website.

The granted cashback will be credited to your Amazon Pay account after the combined order has been sent. You can use it to buy new content on your Fire TV Stick, including games.

The combined offer, which is valid till June 30, can actually be purchased at a low price of Rs. 4,148. It is applicable with Fire TV Stick Lite, Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Stick 4K Max.

The game controller with transparent design is available separately at Rs. 1,899 on the e-commerce site. It comes with features like vibration feedback and motion detection. The controller also includes joysticks as well as a D-pad for control.

Once purchased, you can connect the Micromini X Ninja Controller to your Fire TV Stick by going to Settings > Remote and Bluetooth devices.

Amazon seems to be aiming to expand the use cases of the Fire TV Stick and make it a gaming device for casual gamers by introducing the new promotion. Some existing Fire TV Stick users also see the offer on their home screen to persuade them to upgrade their experience and take advantage of the bundled offer.

A recent report suggested that Microsoft is planning to release its Fire TV Stick-like TV streaming device that will let users access movies, TV services, and a game library through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

The existing catalog of games available for the Fire TV platform does not include any compelling titles for hardcore gamers. However, it has games that might appeal to regular users of using the Fire TV Stick as a gaming device, in addition to watching movies and TV content.

Earlier this month, Amazon introduced the Fire TV Stick Lite with brand new Alexa voice remote in India at Rs. 2,999. It brought the new remote with dedicated controls for streaming platforms, namely Amazon Prime Video, Netflix and Disney+ Hotstar.
