Amad Diallo primed for valuable loan this season with Crystal Palace rumored to be interested among others

It may be one season too soon for Manchester United’s standout Ivorian youngster Amad Diallo this season, with the former Atalanta Bergamo academy graduate primed for a season away from Old Trafford.

United have previously gone on record stating that they would be willing to allow the Ivorian international to go out on loan this season after the signing of Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho this summer, with both Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Moretto corroborating those claims earlier this evening.

Diallo and a handful of other United youngsters were just given upgraded squad numbers this season as well, with Diallo receiving the number 16 shirt which some postulated it could indicate he was ready for an increased role this time around. But the wealth of attacking options on offer at Old Trafford this season means Diallo’s chances could come few and far between, despite the club featuring in the Champions League.

Former Arsenal icon and new Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira could do worse than bringing Diallo into the fold this term, with the Eagles already bringing in two other young players in Chelsea academy graduate Marc Guehi and former Reading standout Michael Olise. When added to the injured Eberechi Eze, loan signing Conor Gallagher, and young left-back Tyrick Mitchel, Vieira could have somewhat of a youth revolution on his hands this season at Selhurst Park.

Other clubs have been rumored to be interested in Diallo, with Swiss giants FC Basel being mentioned as well as a handful of unnamed Bundesliga and Premier League clubs. For the betterment of his development, there is no better time than now for Diallo to log heavy minutes at a temporary charge if he is to fight for his place in the long-term picture at Manchester United.
