Alexandre Lacazette makes post-Arsenal future claim

Alexandre Lacazette has warned that his future beyond this summer is yet to be decided, but that it will most likely be away from Arsenal.

The French striker, who has four goals in the Premier League to his name this season, is out of contract at the end of this season and is not expected either to want or to be offered a new deal in north London.

And, speaking to French media, Lacazette has revealed that whether he can play Champions League football will play a huge role in where he chooses to move to next.

‘I am in discussions with a lot of clubs. I am open. I want to play in Europe, it’s been a long time since I played in the Champions League, I’m missing it’, the 30-year old told Canal plus.

Asked about the potential of a return to Lyon even should they miss out on Europe, Laca played it down, revealing that ‘Lyon knows that I am free, they have come to the information. It’s a little more complicated, nothing is impossible in life, but it’s a little more complicated.’

Of course, these comments will come as somewhat ironic to Arsenal fans, who have long perceived his poor performances as a key reason that they now seem set to miss out on Champions League football next season.

Nketiah to follow

In addition to Lacazette, Eddie Nketiah is also set to leave the club on a free this summer, meaning that Arsenal are set to be in the market for two forwards in the transfer window.

Should they get them right, it could be the boost that they need to push for the top 4 again next season.
