Alarming Bruno Fernandes/Cristiano Ronaldo stat will concern Ralf Rangnick after Aston Villa collapse

An altogether head-turning statistic surrounding the production of Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has surfaced on the back of the club’s meeting with Manchester United.

Bruno at the double

Fernandes, of course, was back in action alongside the rest of Ralf Rangnick’s squad a short time ago.

After ousting Aston Villa from the FA Cup earlier in the week, the Red Devils were tasked with getting the better of Steven Gerrard’s men once more, on this occasion in the Premier League.

And, with less than a quarter of an hour to play at Villa Park, all three points is precisely what United appeared to be headed towards.

This came after the aforementioned Bruno Fernandes found the net not once, but twice, either side of the interval:

A twist, however, was yet to come for the visitors.

After the superb Jacob Ramsey pulled one back for Villa with 77 minutes on the clock, the game’s telling moment was forthcoming a short time later, as Philippe Coutinho, introduced off the bench for his Claret and Blue debut, stole in at the back to bag what proved to be a decisive equaliser:

Concern for Rangnick?

Manchester United, in turn, remain in 7th place in the Premier League table, a full five points off the current top-4 pace.

As alluded to above, though, the damaging nature of the eventual result succumbed to by his side at Villa Park will actually prove only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the concerns of Red Devils boss Ralf Rangnick on Saturday night.

This comes with a frankly alarming statistic, surrounding the goalscoring exploits of midfielder Bruno Fernandes, having too come to the fore online.

Cristiano Ronaldo played no part in the action on Saturday, owing to a hip flexor issue.

And, in the absence of his fellow countryman, Fernandes made it five goals in just four Premier League outings sans-Ronaldo thus far this season.

Compare this to the paltry two goals he has managed in fifteen appearances with United’s talisman, and it becomes clear that Ralf Rangnick has some work to do in finding a way to get the best out of his side’s two most consistent goal threats…
