Chelsea vs Wolves
Chelsea are set to face off with Wolves shortly.
Thomas Tuchel’s side head into the game no doubt desperate to put an end to their dismal recent run of form, which has seen the Blues slip down to 3rd in the Premier League table, four points behind an in-form Manchester City side.
Chelsea’s last outing saw them take on Everton at Stamford Bridge. Granted, a few key stars were missing for the Pensioners, but they still should have had little issue dispatching an Everton side who had won one in nine and had personnel problems of their own.
But Chelsea were forced to settle for a point on the day, once again failing to keep a clean sheet.
Nevertheless, they really shouldn’t struggle to keep Wolves quiet in gameweek 18. Bruno Lage’s side have scored just 13 goals in 17 outings this term – the lowest in the division barring Norwich City.
‘Agenda against Chelsea’
Ahead of kick-off, Chelsea would, of course, release their starting line-up an hour before kick-off.
The Blues were not all full strength after becoming one of many Premier League clubs to be hit by a recent covid outbreak.
It was already confirmed that Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Romelu Lukaku and Callum Hudson-Odoi had tested positive for the virus.
And it was also reported that Chelsea wanted the game to be postponed, but their request was denied due to the PL ruling that Chelsea had 14 players available for the game.

And, on Chelsea releasing their matchday squad for the day, it was easy to see why the game was not called off.
The Blues had close to a full-strength XI and plenty of first-team options on the bench:

Despite Chelsea still having a fairly strong eleven and not a single youth player on their bench, some Chelsea fans were still seemingly not too happy with the game not being called off and took to social media to vent their frustrations, with just some of the reaction shown below:

The Premier League is utterly corrupt. We have been hit so hard with Covid-19 that we only have 4 outfield players on the bench but our plea to postpone the game has been rejected. Other games have been cancelled for less. Mourinho was right. There is an agenda against Chelsea.
