A new privacy-focused browser aims to keep your data safe online

THE Tor Project And Mullvad VPN, two organizations concerned about user privacy, launched a new privacy-focused web browser called Mullvad Browser on Monday. The browser is free to download and works on Windows, MacOS, and Linux. There is also a beta Firefox extension that you can download.

“Today’s mass surveillance is nonsense,” Mullvad VPN CEO Jan Jonsson said in a press release. “Mullvad Browser aims to provide more privacy alternatives to reach as many people as possible and make life harder for those who collect data from you.”

The Mullvad browser was developed by the engineers of the Tor project and minimizes data tracking. This is done by making all users appear as one, similar to how the Tor Browser works. This means that the more people who use the browser, the more users are protected.

“Developing this browser with Mullvad is about giving users more privacy options for everyday browsing and challenging the current business model of mining user behavioral data,” said Isabela Fernandes, executive director of the Tor project.

Mullvad Browser is the latest browser focused on user privacy. Other privacy-focused browsers include DuckDuckGo And Brave. DuckDuckGo also offers users a email protection beta service which removes email trackers and other privacy services.
