6 actions that help determine if you’re someone’s priority

People really need to understand that wanting to be someone’s priority is a natural human emotion of expression.

When people form strong bonds with their friends or partners, most of them expect to be a priority in the other person’s lives.

However, many a time, when feelings aren’t reciprocated, it really saddens us because it is an indication that you aren’t a priority in their lives.

To save you from further heartbreak, we bring to you a few actions that will help you determine whether or not, you are a priority in someone’s life.

1. Not taking out time

If the person always has excuses up their sleeve about how they couldn’t make it to the party with you, then it is a major sign. You may also find that the person always cancels plans with you, till the very last minute which can be very infuriating. The right person, who prioritizes you, will always make out time for you.

2. Not making you meet his near and dear ones

If you have been doubting your place in your partner’s life, then you may have also noticed that they are quite hesitant when it comes to introducing you to their closest friends or family. This indicates that you aren’t that important to them, that they show you off to their closest friends or even a best friend.

3. Being uncertain about calling them during emergencies

If you are hesitant to hit the call or text button to your partner, every time an emergency appears, then you should probably accept the fact that your partner doesn’t care. No matter how big or small the emergency is, your partner should be there with you on times when you need their advice and support.

4. Social media is your only communication platform

You may find your partner only striking up conversations when you post stories and pictures on your social media platforms. That can seem very odd because communication is the primary, golden rule of relationships that needs to be maintained through texts and calls, and not via comments and likes on pictures. This denotes that your partner isn’t very interested to talk to you on a daily basis.

5. Giving in to a fight to take it easy

When you let go of a fight with others, just so that you don’t have to drag it out or feel exhausted, your partner might also do the same. A relationship includes arguments and fights that take work by putting your own individual points across and also by understanding each other. However, if your partner doesn’t take out time for a serious discussion and agrees with you every time to end the fight early, then they don’t care at all.

6. Not mentioning important incidents

In such instances, you will find your partner slipping out about their promotion or even going on a trip with their friends, the very next day! You will probably be the last person to know about their major life events, and that too, because it accidentally slipped out of their mouth. They just don’t see you as a person important enough to tell the news.

Prioritising someone requires work, effort and time. If the person values you enough, they will never take you for granted nor will ever keep you in the dark about their actual feelings.
