3rd Liverpool star withdraws from international duty through injury

A 3rd member of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool ranks has today been forced to pull out of international duty, it has been confirmed.

The player in question? Naby Keita.

In a post across the nation’s social media platforms on Monday evening, the Guinean Football Federation unveiled the news that neither Keita or compatriot Mohamed Bayo will play any part in their upcoming round of fixtures.

A knee issue is cited as being behind the former’s withdrawal.

Keita, of course, joins another key pair of Liverpool stars to have too been forced to call a premature end to their international endeavours for the coming week, in the form of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson.

Speaking over the weekend, Jurgen Klopp confirmed that stopper TAA is set for a spell on the sidelines owing to a hamstring injury, with fellow full-back Robertson now in self isolation after returning a positive test for Covid-19.

Jota makes the difference

Keita, of course, played his part this past weekend, as Liverpool kept hopes of an unprecedented quadruple silverware haul alive and well.

An FA Cup quarter-final showdown with Championship outfit Nottingham Forest ultimately saw the visitors emerge on the right side of a 1-0 scoreline at the City Ground, owing to a solitary strike from Diogo Jota:
