2nd Man United star makes clear hopes of January departure

Word stemming from the English media on Friday suggests that yet another member of Ralf Rangnick’s Manchester United squad has made clear his desire for pastures new following the turn of the year.

‘Needs to play’

The subject of potential outgoings has of course taken centre stage in the chatter surrounding Old Trafford over the course of the day to date.

This comes on the back of something of a bombshell when it comes to the future of Anthony Martial.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, the Frenchman’s agent, Philippe Lamboley, confirmed in no uncertain terms that Martial wants out of Manchester United, in a bid to secure more regular game-time:

Lingard to follow?

And, as alluded to above, just hours later, the intentions of another member of Rangnick’s Red Devils setup have too been made clear.

The player in question? Jesse Lingard.

As per a report from the reliable Paul Hirst of The Times, Jesse Lingard, on the back of an underwhelming spell since his return from loan this summer, has set his sights firmly on a winter exit from Manchester.

And the English international appears unlikely to be short on suitors.

With Lingard’s contract due to expire in the summer, the 28-year-old is expected to be available for a cut-price fee, with newly-minted Newcastle United understood to have placed him at the very top of their January shopping list.
