2023 U-17 AFCONQ: 21 Cameroonian Players Fail MRI Test

Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) has announced that 21 players of the country’s U-17 national team have failed the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) test.

This was revealed by FECAFOOT in a press release.

According to the football body, 21 out of the 30 players currently in camp preparing for the Central African Football Federations’ Union (UNIFFAC) 2023 U-17 AFCON qualifier, failed the test.

“The Cameroonian Football Federation informs the public that as part of the preparations for the UNIFFAC Limbe 2023 tournament, qualifying for the next U-17 AFCON, 21 players out of the 30 currently training have failed after the outcome of the MRI tests,” the press release state.

“They were immediately removed from the group. Steps were immediately taken for their replacement.

“This action is the result of strict instructions given by the President of FECAFOOT acting under the mandate of the COMEX, in order to put an end to the tampering with civil status records which have, in the past, tarnished the image of the apex body of the Cameroon football.

“FECAFOOT urges all actors, in particular educators, to ensure that the ages by category are respected.“
